I started racing in 2008, the second year VP 75 was in action. My first boat was a 13 foot GW Invader (the Slippery Banana) running VP. The next year I came upon a great opportunity from Bob Dillon and I acquired the Dillon Pro Tunnel prototype. After a few "bumps in the road" the first 2 weekends the "Banana Split" raced...the kinks got worked out and I ran at or near the front the rest of the year while occasionally running VP as well in 09.
2010 saw the acquisition of a new VP boat the "Rotten Banana"..the original Hydrostream Vandal that JCJ Racing started with. This boat had been re-cored the previous year and was what I primarily ran....occasionally breaking out the GT Pro boat throughout the year. In 2011 I focused on the GT Pro to see if it could do what I thought it could 2 years earlier. Tim Fortuna ran the Rotten Banana in 2011 for me after his boat had structural issues the first weekend of racing. Who knows what 2012 will bring! BTW....VP 75 boat for sale...$3500 turnkey! Put a little time into the motor and you'll be near the front every race. Motor - 75 Johnson Stinger bored .20 over and rebuilt 2 years ago...very low hours!
