My First experience with boat racing was in 2009 when I was fishing on the Mississippi River in Champlin. I saw some individual setting up these giant floating orange balloons and had to investigate. From that day forward was an experience that can never be forgot. The purchase of plans for the Dillon MiniVee was the next step that would put me into this sport. With plans in hand to simply to build a boat that would run 45 + mph made out of Plywood ,pine, glue. The Talking,Email conversations with current members of TCPBA would put me in this plywood speedster rounding the same giant balloons that I saw the year prior thinking to myself "what did i just accomplish?". Well the accomplishment of building a boat and speeding around just wasn't enough. So in the winter of 2011 I again with the help of Bob Dillon. Built another boat called the Dillon Pro Tunnel. In a matter of 4 months the boat called "Plan B" was unveiled at the same location running out front(until a sudden mishap with an orange monster buoy) that I was Fishing just 2 years prior. Now enjoying the sport so much and getting involved with the club.In 2012 my daughters will be running the current ProTunnel for the first time ever. I would say it was an accomplishment that was just plain fun all the way around. So build yourself a boat and come out and join TCPBA. It is a blast!!
